Winchester model 70 MOA Trigger

In the manual Winchester states on the MOA trigger that if you back the trigger pull set screw off all the way the screw will fall out. It states thats 2 1/2 # pull is the lowest setting.
If you back it all the way out and it falls out should you leave it out or screw it back in. If you want the
lowest trigger pull should it stay out or does it need to be replaced for some other reason

Set it back in and turn it down. I just picked up a Model 70 Featherweight in 300 WSM. After clearing the epoxy to get at the adjustments I started turning out the pull weight adjustment screw. It only changed by about a 1/4 pound. From 4.25 down to about 4 pounds. This with it all the way out. Took the screw out and it seems to turn a ways before making contact with the spring. I'll be picking up a light spring to see if I can actually get some lower adjustment out of it. I'd be happy with 2.5 pounds in this gun. Trigger breaks very clean with no creep and very little over travel but after shooting match guns with triggers running from 6 oz to 12 oz it seems like I need a hammer to get the firing pin to fall on a 4 pound trigger.

I have a extreme westher SS 264 win mag
I put a 2 1/2# spring in it and never moved the adjustment screw
It breaks at almost dead on 2 1/2# on a wheeler gauge
The new rifle is a extreme weather tungsen 264.
I guess ill have to get another spring if backing it out only dropped it 1/2#
This rifle breaks at 4# from the factory
