Will a controlled round feed bolt work in a controlled round push feed action. I realize that the barrel needs an extractor cut.

No, It will not, The pre 64 bolts or even the later classic bolts have an extractor that is on the outside of the bolt and rotates, Very similar to a Mauser 98. It uses an ejector towards the rear of the bolt. It will in no way work on a post 64 action.

The action I have is the controlled round push feed. It uses the same ejector as the classic bolts. Bolt face is the same as the classic. Extractor is different but seems to operate the same" mauser type compared to m70 push feed. Can take some pictures and post. Wanted to change from wsm bolt face to standard bolt face. Can't seem to find a stripped short action bolt reasonable.

Your barrel does not have a cone breech, It's not just the extractor cut. Notice in the other photo I posted, The controlled round bolt (ie: pre 64 or win classic) the bolt is coned to mate with cone on the on the breech.

This photo was borrowed from another accurate shooter post.

I know difference in barrel. I am making a new barrel. I want to go from Magnum bolt face to .308 Bolt face. Can't find a stripped bolt for under 300. Numrich has CRF bolts for 80$ . Just trying to save some money.
Thanks for the info!

What about maching the bolt face or dropping in a bushing to reduce the diameter. Granted your still reworking or building bolt parts but that's an option, way more time than $$$

Do they also have the extractor, And the extractor collar?

I would bet the extractor , being on the outside of the locking lug , will not have enough room to operate or allow the bolt to slide . I also doubt they made different action bodies, but probably did machine the bolt rails different.
If the distance across the bolt locking lugs , including the extractor is the same as the push feed , it may work . That would mean the locking lugs on the control round feed is actually shorter ( bolt centerline to tip of locking lug

If I was you I would just go ahead and buy the Bolt, Extractor and Collar from Numrich, Even if it doesn't work out,That stuff will be unobtanium when they run out of them, Like you said you can't get a bolt for less than $300.00. You used to be able to get a complete Mauser Bolt for $50.00 to $75.00 15 years ago, Now a junker is $150.00 and good ones are $250.00 to $300.00 complete.
