Winchester Model 1890 .22 CB Cap Gallery Model Pump Rifle

I have a Winchester 1890 22 CB Cap Gallery Model like new! Problem is it will only take .22 CB Cap Ammo (No Longer Mfg.).
Hence my quest as follows:

Can this chamber be opened up to receive .22 CB Shorts. Readily manufactured today ammo availability!

I believe that this can be accomplished by a competent Gunsmith today! Do you know of anyone that would take this job on!

Your help in this quest is greatly appreciated.

You did not finish your last post. Can you take a picture of the chamber marking on the barrel? They did make a cartridge called a cb cap. Also made one called a bb cap.

You will destroy its value . Trade it off for a similar gun . Cb , conical bullet , ammo was available last year from germany , I think it was Geco .
The lifter , barrel chamber and possibly more in the feeding . You might check out schematics for both winchesters and see what’s different.
Most of the ones I worked on were for 22 short with sintered bullets .

As Ggmac says you'll destroy the value and if you are patient Geco will eventually start sending more ammo for your rifle to the USA.
