Winchester introduces the 21 Sharp

Maybe it's changed in recent years but awhile back CCI Green Tag was "selected" lots of CCI SV. I was told that by our CCI rep at the time. Like most 22 LR some lots shot good and some lots weren't any better than run of the mill CCI SV. I haven't bought Green Tag since I learned that and I could buy it for dealer cost back then. I do keep some CCI SV on hand to use for informal steel shooting. It does on out of my Ruger MKII Gov't
Selected or not, it's the same price point as Lapua X-Act. I would need
to see a heads up test.....As for the new 21 Sharp ?? Not happening on
my end.

A lot of good ideas have been ruined with poor marketing.

“Build it and they will come” attitude doesn’t work well.
There has to be either a need, or a better mouse trap so to speak.
that works the other way around also, pet rocks and mood rings come to mind. With the Creedmoor someone at at a committee meeting said hey let's reduce the case of a 260 rem's capacity by a grain of water, change the shoulder angle and a legend was born

It was actually designed to meet some parameters for shooting xtc with collaboration with a big name or two in the xtc community. The other disciplines just happened to really like it.

Mine may not be a legend, but there's plenty of different ammunition to try. My Tikka is very accurate and a pleasure to shoot. To me, that means they did a great thing. Remington has never been able to claim a marketing prize.

and the reason they did not just go with the .260 Rem and .243 Win? Tried and proven cartridges that have good reps for accuracy at medium and long range. Reducing the case capacity by a percent or so and changing the shoulder angle accomplished what ?

edit - thinking about it a lot of the 1000 yard + guys went with the AI versions of those cartridges to get a little more case capacity, rather than less. For the life of me I can't understand why you would want less, most of the popular powders used get you decent fill rates

It's 100 rounds vs 50 rounds. So half the price of X-Act. I would but Green Tag these days regardless. CCI SV is basically plinking ammo that I only use for steel shooting. Green Tag is a no go period

marketing lol. male bovine fertilizer more aptly. Too much case capacity?

.260 Rem 53.5 gns H2O 6.5 Creedmoor 52.5 gns H2O

I seriously doubt the the marketing boys and girls at Winchester are going to be as successful as Hornady was in pulling the wool over shooter's eyes. Hornadys 6ARC did not fare as well, but the PRC line seems to be enjoying modest success.

The ARC was pushed as an AR cartridge. The PRC's are pushed as a Bolt action cartridge. If Hornady would push the ARC as a bolt action cartridge NOW I think they would see a fair bump up in sales. Getting rifle makers to make .PPC bolts is another thing. CZ is the only really common maker that does right now.

old post warning.

Just heard of the 21 Sharp. Still no ammo available @ ammoseek.com

Looks like another fail for Winchester?

Has anyone seen a firearm chambered for the 21 Sharp?

I looked in my local shop and they don't have any. Might find some at the gun shows. Savage, so far, is the only one making a rifle chambered for this round.
