Seen the B-Mag at Bass-Pro it is fugly too.But beauty is in the eye of the beholder.I'd like to see a contender barrel for it some day.

jhart said:I just got my new savage B-mag last week ..Took it to the range the other day with the 25gr ammo and the results of the first 25 rounds were sad to say the least, so I packed it up with the thoughts of selling it as soon as could sit behind the computer.. BUT I didn't thank goodness, I got to looking at the ammo and u could tell that some of the rims of the cases were thicker than the others, so I made a jig that I could measure the rims. Come to find out the rims were all over the place. I sorted them by thickness took the rifle back to the range and the rifle shot much better.. the rims measured anywhere from .048 to .061 that's huge in a rimfire case.. the cases that were .057 to .061 would not extract and split at the shoulder.
The savage went from shooting 3" at 50yards to under 3/8 at 50 yards and it has shot under an 1" at 100 yards 4 shot groups.
