On a pre64, I use a woodruff key cutter and the barrel at an angle. Still less unsupported than an untouched Remington 700!

I don't have a great tool to measure, but the Pre-64 and early Classic look to be 60 degrees. Please don't take my measurement though unless confirmed by a real gunsmith.
.
Uh oh...... Does it fit?
I guess 30 degrees is also correct. I measured 60 degrees from the shank, which would be 30 degrees from the breech
thanks boss I’ll run 30 degree and see how it turns out.
Using a concave cutter puts that perfect radius around the chamber edge shown here. Its really the best way to get maximum extractor grip and safetyThat is my video from 2016 on a 25-06. I have this picture of the same cutter on a 280AI M70 in 2018.

I know I shot a mule buck with the 25-06 in 2016 and an antelope buck with the 280AI in 2018.
