When an old man dies, a library is lost forever...
Definitely going to rebarrel, cant decide on a caliber. 6.5 creedmoor or 7mm-08 or always wanted a 284 win? I have to consider recoil and I do have a 7SAUM but I like the 7mms...
If your rifle is one of the short action calibers, built with a standard (long) action, the 284 would get my vote. Even if it's a short action, I'd still do it. (Says the man with 284 dies and cases, but no 284

Seems like I've got seven M70s. Maybe eight; I'd have to look....
They run from push feed, to classic. 220 Swift, 223, 243, 6mmbr, 260, 280, and 30-06. Only three have factory barrels- two 223 and the 243.
Were the rebarrels worth it? To me and whoever inherits, it is.
ETA: Nine... forgot the one waaaay back in the safe.
