Wilson vs ScrewIn Seater - Why is Wilson Supposedly Superior?

Boyd, I'm a little slow, I'm trying to get something to work this year. I will run some numbers by you, new BIB. 104 .2431 S.- .2434 PR.,Berg. 105H .2432 S. - .2435 PR. and Spencer 103 .2432 S. and .2437 PR. That is a compositor ten each. Seems that .0003 larger at the heel of the BT. All will do the job....... jim

At the heel of all of the custom flat base bullets (and evidently by the information in this thread, several BT bullets) there is a ridge that is larger in diameter than the shank of the bullet immediately in front of it. It is my understanding that this pressure ring is removed from productions bullets, by passing them through a additional die to flatten it out to shank diameter. I have read that this is done to facilitate production bullets' use in automatic loading equipment that is used to load factory ammunition. The size of this pressure ring varies depending on the dies that were used to make a particular bullet. As I posted previously in this thread, the largest example that I have has a pressure ring that measures .2437. Other bullets pressure rings are run around .2435. All you need to see this is a custom FB bullet or two, and a 1' mic. that reads to .0001.

Some people have mentioned the Lee Collet Die and I would like to hear a little more conversation on the use of these dies. I was looking for a Lee Collet Die for the 6mm BR Norma but Lee's website shows a Collet Die for the 6mm PPC and the 6mm Remington. Some people say it is ok to use the 6mm PPC Collet Die for the 6mm BR Norma and others say not to. I would like some feedback on this.
This afternoon I talked to Lee customer service and they said not to use a Lee Collet 6mm PC Die on the 6mm BR and that contrary to what some posts have said on different sites they have never put that out. I asked about a Lee Collet Die for the 6 BR in the future and was told that right now they do not have any extra time to be working on any new items.
