Wilson vs Redding?

Looking at buying a new 308 full length bushing die and was wondering if i should go with redding or a wilson?

Anyone have any experience withe the Wilson full length bushing dies? Can they be used without the decaping pin?

Thanks

Not at home to check but I believe no
But pins in my two Wilson dies are adjusted all the way to top of die and serve no meaningful purpose other than being there.

I know the Redding can be used without the decapping pin. I only have Wilson seating dies so no help on them.

I use redding fl bushing dies without the pin, and wilson seating dies. Id I did it over again, id get whidden custom fl bushing dies, and the wilson seater blank cut with the same reamer when my barrel gets chambered..

But theres no issue as is either.

Yes they can. Here is my Wilson Full Length Die for 6.5CM I sometimes remove the decaping pin and sometimes even the bushing to bump. Here's two photos. Most the time I leave the DP in as I deprime in a different station used just for that..WilsonDie1.jpg WilsonDie2.jpg They are very good dies..... HB

Do you drop the locking caller in on top of bushing to take up some of the slack in its movement?
This is why I just moved decapping rod all the way up.

Wilson recommends .001-.002 space between the locking collar & bushing.

Normally the decap pin is no issue as I have already deprimed at another station. You can drop the collar back in on top of the bushing to keep it in place. Like Sixgun I rotate 180 sizing but only twice to help with concentritcy. Lube em up. Never had a Whidden set, so I don't know about them... HB

I also decap on a separate press after cleaning and before annealing ,, followed by sizing and brass prep.

You do not have to use a decap pin with either die. The Wilson die does not have a way to use a expander that I know of. That is the only big difference that I have found. I like the Wilson bushing because you can flip them in the die tapered end up or down.
