once you use them you wont go back. I bought a hammer from the dollar store just for this. The process really cuts down on the dirt trail. Its very effective for crimped brass. Also as your brass's primer pockets loosen, you will "feel" them better I think than in the press. Lastly, I think the punch is stronger than the decapping pin in most dies. FWIW the alternative is a universal decapping die (faster), but you will go back to bring dirt to the press. Good luck on your decision.
