Wilson die question

http://www.sinclairintl.com/reloading-equipment/reloading-dies/rifle-dies/wilson-stainless-seaters-prod42405.aspx

All of my seating dies are micro adjust. Some I am required to furnish the micro adjuster like a height gage or dial caliper. When determining 'off the lands' I use a transfer to move the dimensions from the chamber to the seating die. That method eliminates 'all the guess work' if the reloader understands the concept of ZERO.

I have RCBS Gold Medal and Competion seating die, by adding extended shell holders and bullet guides one expensive seating die can be used for other calibers.

I buy the mic top when I can afford it, and it's especially nice when changing between seating depths frequently rather than simply finding a depth and sticking with it, but it's by no means a huge deal. Trial and error? The thread is 24 threads per inch. That's .0416" per rotation, about .021" per half turn, and about .010" per quarter turn. If you can't dial in on what you're looking for pretty quickly your not doing it right. My interest in the mic top is that if I load up some mag length hunting loads, or experiment with a new bullet, I can run right back to my match seating depth without consulting log book or measuring anything. Just run it back to "zero".
