Wilson Arms barrels. Any good?

Wilson used to make barrels for Rock River arms, however, I don't know if that is still the case. I have had previous good luck with wilson

I ordered one from ragged hole barrels. RHB buys by the lot and are all air gauged. 185 shipped ain't bad. My friend has four rifles with them and they shoot. Just threaded mine yesterday waiting to be chambered.

Ragged Hole Barrels, Sparks, NV have Wilson barrels and others, good prices and work. Remember, as others mentioned, Wilson barrels are use on Cooper Rifles.

Nosler uses them to .
Have a White Oak AR Match Barrel that Hammers .

I have one also from the early 90's it's a 1-8" twist 24" bull profile that doesn't really seam to give a damn what I shoot in it.
It just eats it up and shoots well when I'm doing my part.

Heard nothing but good reviews of the Wilson barrels. Personally haven't ever shot or owned one. For whatever that's worth.

I have chambered and shot four Wilson barrels. All have been 6.5's and all four shoot as well as any of the other top brands. These are hunting rifles and not competition guns so all have been the #4 hunting contour. For the price I cannot see using anything else as long as the contours available will fit your need. I have chambered and shot hunting rifles with Shilen, Krieger, Bartlein, Brux, Hart, Broughton, and PacNor barrels. I can say that every one of the mentioned barrels have shot very well. I will add Wilson to the list of barrels I will definitely order and chamber again. The biggest limitation with Wilson barrels are the contours available. A #4 hunting contour and a LV barrel. Ragged Hole does stock a few #5.5's but only in big bore barrels. I wished I could get a #5 or Rem Varmint contour in a Wilson then I would not look anywhere else for hunting purposes. Best bang for the buck in a hunting barrel if you ask me.

My opinion is based upon my personal experience with Wilson barrels that I have chambered and shot thus far. It's true not all of them were as straight as a Krieger, Brux, or Bartlein but all were dialed in properly and all have shot great. You can get a barrel from any manufacturer that may not meet your expectations so your mileage may vary.

You can get stan taylor to recontour your barrel blank to whatever size you want. I think ragged hole are great folks and i use their blanks quite often. Cant beat their price or service

Wanted another barrel for one of my Wildcat (6.8 BR/.270) projects. Didn't want to spend BIG $$$ on a barrel and not like the chambering SO, got turned onto a couple of Wilson gunsmith blanks at action. Bid on two but was only able to snag one of them.
Was told that Wilson barrels were junk because they wern't lapped?o_O
After being threaded and chambered for my round of choice turned out to be one of my favorite bug hole makers AND, it cleans up like a dream. Another? In a heart beat.:cool:
