Will this affect ignition?

This is a custom action. ( Remington style )
Complaint is the gun shoots erratic. Will group well and throw flyers randomly.
I pulled his gun apart and started looking.
When I removed the fire pin assembly and looked in.
Something looked strange. When them drilled the hole in the side of the bolt. Looks like the drilled it to deep. And it went through the firing pin hole.
This pic is taken looking down the bolt body to the bottom. If that makes sense ?

I doubt it. Clearance is clearance, assuming it does clear.

So your primers are being struck off center and not directly into the anvil ? Do you have a picture of the primers ?

You may consider having your firing pin "bushed".
Before you go down that path, video yourself shooting the gun, and examine the footage closely for technique differences between grouping well and flyers.
Just like loading snap caps randomly in pistol magazines, you might be surprised at what you see.
I've caught myself doing stuff that I'd swear I never did, but it's incontrovertible when you see it on video.

That’s where they drilled a hole from the side of the bolt. Through where the firing pin goes.
This is looking from the back of the bolt down to where the firing pin goes

Maybe some additional pictures would help. Of the bolt body, from where the “hole” starts, scaled out a bit so we can see what’s going on. What hole in the side of the bolt are we talking about?

Guy had had a few shoot it. It’s a 7 Saum.
Carbon fiber barel, brake. Very tame to shoot.

Random flyers are most usually a barrel problem....... Viewing the pic of the outside of the bolt pretty much suggests in my mind that is where the maker intended the "gas relief hole" to be. Is there a corresponding hole in the front ring of the action? Where You can visually see that the hole in the bolt body lines up with the hole in the front ring? I think you're looking in the wrong place for the problem.

My vote is put a different scope that you know is good on it.. If that doesn't work check the bedding and if it isn't bedded well do it.
Make sure scope mounts and action screws are tight first.
Theres some things I would check first before I would blame the barrel.

That isn’t likely your problem. I’d be messing with action screw torque, checking threaded fasteners everywhere for a loose mount screw or something, cleaning it, messing with seating depth, replacing firing pin spring, trying a new barrel….all before I’d think it has anything to do with that hole.

Dry fire the rifle. You should hear a clear crisp ring. No thud. If you get a thud then there's an ignition issue.

I'd put some Dykem on the pin where the hole is and dry fire it a few times....see if there's any evidence of it rubbing.

Yes gas relief hole is drilled there.
Never seen one drilled that deep.
And has been shot with multiple scopes, stocks and chassis. Loads powders etc.
barrel is what I suspected. It’s a carbon fiber.
Only reason I was asking is it’s here to get a new barrel on it. I don’t like to over look any issues.
The action and barrel were brand new. And have about 300 rounds on them.
I had this sent to me to fix. So before I put another barrel on it. I saw this and wanted an opinion.
I was going to call the action manufacturer on Monday.

In the cocked position look through the relief hole at the firing pin. You may have to rig something to pull the cocking piece back a little to get it to the cocked position out of the action. Depending on how much cock on close it has. If you can see the end of the firing pin then you may have a problem. I cant tell from the picture if the firing pin is guided or not but either way if it hitting the sharp edge of that hole you will have issues. Look at the pin tip to see if theres any wear. I had an action through here with a similar but different issue. The firing pin tip wore to a 45 degree angle.

Most have an internal bur in there, especially bats. I made a burnishing tool just for that many years ago

have you checked the obvious, bolt handle touching stock , ftigger hitting guard or stock , barrel warming , is the thrown shot always about them same number in the string , check muzzle brake for bullet contact and runout ?
Guard screws hitting stock ?
