Will lack of ammo and components push DOWN the price of firearms?

with no ability for anyone new to the hobby able to shoot a firearm, one can only assume that the demand will diminish and new owners will be turned away due to ammo cost and lack there-of. Anyone else think we might see a DECREASE in the cost of new and used firearms?

maybe its just me being hopeful.....but it makes sense to me....

It don't seem to be.
From where I sit and see, gun shops such as Gander MT,. or Cabela's, have little or no inventory or handguns ( of quality ) in their inventory. I do believe you can order what you wish, and that is another story. Even if you get that done... where are you going to find "copper plated " ammo for it ? . Most don't or won't care, but I do.

I’ve been watching mostly rifles on the market lately, prices are way up on Remington, 50-100-200 percent.

$50-200 up on Winchester. I don’t follow the others too closely, but higher priced ones are trending the same.

Have seen a few harder to find ones come in early for pretty good money, then the ones next in line bring a hair less

ARs are strong at 600-900 range, the rest are hit and miss on higher end ones.

Remington is partly the bankruptcy I believe. Firearms overall seems to be Democrat driven. I expect there are a few that are looking to spend those “pandemic windfall” checks as well.

On the plus side, I did snag the last M700 short action at the local Walmart for a whopping $416 out the door... ;-)

A local gun shop that I have dealt with for years and know the owner personally sold out of all it handguns about 2 months ago - all of them. He has a back log of orders for 40 to 50 pistols, all semi-autos. He sold out of all AR's several months ago. While he has some bolt rifles remaining, his inventory is down 50%.

Components are even worse - no primers and no bullets. Surprising he has powder and I was able to get an 8 lb keg of H4895, my favorite do all powder so I'm go there.

Personally, I have the money and desire to purchase a new rifle but even if it was available I'd hold off because I have just enough components (primers and bullets) to feed my existing rifles for about a year.

It's anyone's guess what's coming next in these times of uncertainty - I'm just looking to get through the upcoming ground hog season if the virus or something else doesn't get me.

All of this is so unfortunate ... and I truly believe than many people are their own enemy I have a friend who is a great example... never Owned a gun until July ish.. now he owns a couple long guns and hand guns and buys any ammo he can... I asked him a couple days ago.. how many pistol rounds you have.... “ oh idk 3-4k”.... I asked how many rounds he has actually shot... 3-400..... I said maybe you should stop buying and making things worse...

Ill gladly trade an AR or two for Primers and Powder and Bullets..provided its what I need,
and what I need all my Fellow Competitors need also....so thats a real long shot.

I was rummaging through some stuff this earning and found a 100 pack of CCI Magnum Rifle Primers.
I have no idea how old they.

Should I ask $1 a piece for them, or discount them to $99 for the hundred.

Seriously, if anybody in the Houston area wants them, I will give them to you If you are willing to come and get them.

If they're smart, gun stores will start holding back some of the trickle of loaded ammo they have been receiving lately, so that they actually can offer a few rounds to new purchasers of guns.
