Will I get good results applying Duracote flat clear coat?

In particular, I want to use the matt (flat) clear cote finish on top of their black paint. Have you guys gotten a nice flat finish spraying it over your Duracote opaque colors? Or would their 10% flattening additive work as well?

I'm not sure exactly what shade of black I'll be going with until I receive the sample swatches I ordered. I might choose a shade of black that comes in satin only. I want a final flat/dull finish like that of a Remington HS Sendero flecked stock, and figure I can top coat any color they offer in flat clear paint. I see that Duracoat also sells "flattening agent" to add to their paint if I wanted to go that route instead.

I would just add the flattening agent so if you scratch it ,it will still be a flat color than a shiny streak.

I spoke with Randy at Duracoat yesterday and found it enlightening to hear him say that adding the prescribed 10% ratio of their "flattening agent" to duracoat paints actually makes for more of a tactical or dull flat finish then does spraying flat clear on top of a duracoat paint finish.

The stuff only costs a few dollars a bottle and would save me the extra time of not having to spray an extra coat onto the rifle if I don't need it.
