Will a 700 trigger fit a 722?

I have a 722 222 and wondered if a trigger that fits a 700 will fit the 722.

yes. I had one with a jewell 700 style trigger.

Yes, but the safety on a 700 trigger requires that the 722 action has a notch cut like the 700 action has. A trigger with no safety like Jewell benchrest model works perfect.

Instead of milling a safety lever notch in the tang of my 722, I bought a Jewell with the bottom safety option.

Or, if you are a backyard or basement smith, a bit o heat and a pair if needle nose will move the 700 Safety swing arm out a bit around the edge of the 722. Dremel the stock lightly, and though it may look a bit awkward, it works. Don't ask me how I know.
