Will 6ppc work from a short action magazine for rem 700? Will it feed from the magazine?

People have tried to get this combo to work for years shooting across the course without much success, even with special magazines. The loaded rounds tend to nosedive in the mag and jam. I'd try another cartridge.

Ruger made both the 22ppc and the 6ppc in their VT model quite a few years ago. Both were box magazine fed similar to the BDL. They feed near perfectly from the magazine. So I don't know why it wouldn't feed.

The bolt face on the Remington may require some attention though. Perhaps a Sako or AR claw extractor.(?) WD

Mine works fine. I used a small bolt face short action, opened the bolt to PPC and installed a Sako extractor. Then I had to use a 243 follower and magazine box. Feeds and shoots just fine. The small bolt faced action has slightly smaller feed rails which I also polished some, but it worked okay as is. Maybe I got lucky, but I can assure you THAT is not the norm!!!
