Back in the day a “wildcat” cartridge was anything you could not buy ready to shoot.
now days seams like most cartridges talked about on shooting forums are mainly “wildcats”
which bring up a ? What factory brass do you think has been used the most to build “wildcats” ?

So the ole 06 which was turned into 25-06 among others things then was shorten to become the 308 and all its kin which was shorten again to become the 6,7 Br. And kin That was lengthen to become the Dasher and BrX and all their kin. If I’m I following this blood trail right. So the ole 06 that you don’t hear used much was the daddy of all you hear about now lol

Back in the day I used Schmidt and Rubin, and the belted
350 Magnum. Most of those were .270 short action cats.
Current favored in the shortening of the 284 Winchester
brass. Never paid much attention to the .473 rimmed brass.
It was and is a crowded field. Currently looking to get a pile
of 7.5 Swiss, and do a.......??

My money is on the H&H case 300/375. Every belted case out there owes is lineage to it minus the BIG Weatherbys.
