wild hog hunting in Texas

Well had a little exitement the other day hog hunting . A friend and me were hunting in the morning and just doing a walk and stalk . We walked right up on a group of good sized pigs and the wind was just right and was able to get very close but they were in thick bruss with a few Mesquite trees mixed in . Any way I was hoping to let my friend shoot one with his 6.5x55 sweed but he was not want to shoot through the brush . I ended up taking a shoot with my 30AR Remington Ar15 at the biggest one . I made a good hit on him through the brush and he ended up running off through the brush. We went and found a blood trail and was both walking and looking . I was walking by a plum thicket and out comes the hog and then he turned my way and just stopped I kinda froze and did a hip shot on him . Talk about getting your heart rate up . He just dropped dead after the shot to the head . He was about a 300 lbs pig a boar with some nice tusks on him . I really like the 30 AR for pig hunting . I Thanks! Mark
