Widden V Block and AICS Mags

ab_bentley

I fix stuff, sometimes....
Does anyone here have experience using Widdens V Block and a detachable magazine? I am looking at running PTG M5 bottom metal but would like to use a block system for the action.

We are making a block/DBM combo at PTG , colored or coated below stock line . On the mills now 99 bucks to125 bucks depending on the type Action, also along with the military Chamber Reamer contract we have been requested to start machining our DBM's to be made in a insert form for multiple Actions .The bottom metal/AICS Magazine attached to the different actions will fit in the exact same cavity in the Chassis We are machining. Stocks they have contracted to a large Stock Manufacturer and they will fit the same insert that we are making chassis for . We will be offering a little different type of Chassis like the DOD's and it will have the same cavity for the public for 325 bucks. The DBM/Block, Magazine kit for type's of Actions, for 25 dollars over the cost of our present Flush cut or Stealth bottom metal . Its like if you purchase our present DBM/Mag. Combo @ 150 bucks with the block on it , 175 bucks. I think it will sell don't you ? Please let me know your thoughts on this and what you think of the pricing, Please thanks Dave Kiff @PTG

If i could ask you all, is it good to color only to the stock line because stocks very ? or what should I do ? The Stealth DBM/ V block combo is made out of 7075-T6 alum. maybe we should just not color them ? please let me know so I can tell my Engineers. Thanks Dave

Dave,

With that pricing, I think you'll sell as many as you can make. Let me know when they're ready. I have a building retrofit list.

Should we be coating or anodizing the blocks, or just leave them in the white ?
One man's opinion - Coating the blocks wouldn't do anything for me. I'd be fine with them in the white.

That will be the way they come then, Thank You so much . I will send you the first one out as soon as they are completed . Thanks again, Dave @ Pacific Tool and gauge

Dave,

My pleasure. Opinions I got.

I can't wait to see these. I've always been favorably impressed with PTG products. And, thank you!

Can you anodize without dye? Etch the block for bedding to adhere to but also adding a protective barrier. Your SA block is what piqued my interest.

I have several rifles with Whiddens v block and M5 bottom metal, AICS mags. it all works great. use a gunsmith who understands how stocks and bottom metal work together and you'll be happy.

To Mr. Kiff, I would suggest anodizing your block/bottom metal since it shows
