Widden non bushing die?

Is anyone using the Widden non bushing FL sizing die ? Seems like most people use the bushing dies but not so much the non bushing style, any thoughts? E

Yes....I spoke with John several tines about this and use many of his dies he feels that FL is the best way to go and if u want the ability to adjust neck size use the different sized expander balls they're great and have a very nice tapper.

i have one for.my 6br with the expander ball kit. really nice. like being able to adjust neck tension with a full length die and without all the problems of bushing neck sizing.

it pushed me into neck turning. i realized that all the runout i was seeing was really the 0.0015 variation in neck thickness on my lapua brass.

notice how nice the concentricity of bushing sized brass looks. well neck thickness variations are on the inside.

6BR FL die with the expander kit. I wish they had an "off the shelf" one for 223ai.

i agree

after turning my necks the little runout i had almost disapeared

This is what I was hoping to here, thanks. E

I have a 6mm Dasher F/L Non-Bushing Whidden die. It was honed out (exactly like Forster does it) by Whidden. Excellent job. Since I turn all my necks to 12 Thousandths, the .266 neck hone job was perfect.

If you never adjust your neck tension go for it. Way too easy to change a bushing for different conditions, bullet lots, etc

A Bushing Die is s much more versatile than a non-Bushing Die. It's a matter of putting in or removing the Expander Ball AND you can use or leave out a Bushing. Why buy two dies when one does it all?
