why isn't my marlin xt-22 accurate?

cci std and subsonic, ely yellow, sk rifle match, wolf match extra, aquila target and subsonic, norma usa match, blazer, browning pro v22 and others i can't recall right now. interesting your savage does not shoot cc std. on the same bench/time/conditions as testing the xt i shot this with my mkii heavy fluted without really trying too hard:

Your rifle will like what it likes!

here is an update. i think i have beat this issue well enough. i broke the cardinal rule of troubleshooting and changed several things all at once.... but in the end, i didn't use up all my ammo.

1. epoxied bedded the modified scope rail onto the receiver:

2. epoxied the barrel lug into the dovetail after peening for tighter fit{
xt barrel lug epoxied.jpg
3. added cross block in stock to allow consistent torque on rear action screw:
xt stock block.jpg
4. and, single loaded

now it will shoot right around 1/2" at 50 yards with cci std, wolf match extra, and aquila rifle match. does not shoot eley target and REALLY does not shoot norma usa or browning (winchester) pro 22.

stock screw torques are 30 front and 20 rear, with no creep on rear anymore since the crossblock is installed. i do have to remove the mag 'floor plate' to disassemble after fixing the barrel lug in place.

just in time for squirrel season. hahaha.

I 'm impressed with .5 at 50. Also glad you got it shooting better.
i will shoot some agg targets to make sure and report back with results. also would like to get some more aquila rifle match, but may have to use aquila target instead and/or sk standard plus.
