Why do ARs Eject Ultra-Hot Cartridges?

It’s a gas operated rifle. The fired case is extracted and ejected in a split second after firing. There is no time for the chamber to act as a heat sink, hence the hot brass.

This. Auto handgun is the same. Shot USPSA before age caught up with me. Saw a hit case get in a woman's low cut top a few times. Ouch

had to shoot around the left corner of a building and and my t-shirt was stretched out. 2 pieces went right down my shirt front, got them shook down then down my pants. They stopped burning at about my boot. Was always a little more conscious of it after that. Definitely left some scars.

I shoot left handed. Can remember and still see places where a hot cartridge got under my chin stap.

Makes no sense for any range to allow a semi on the benches without a brass catcher or at least a divider to stop the cases. Any person on a range ejecting cases on the other shooters should immediately be stopped. Then what?

You decide.

If you think the brass is hot, the bullets are hotter. Be glad it is just the brass, but the brass does burn. Don't loose focus and stay in the fight !!
