Why Berger 105 vs 108

A quick question, can a guy use 205's instead of cci 450's? I have a hard time finding 450's at times and seem to have 5000 205's on hand, just curious as it seems like everyone is using 450's.

Fed 205's should be just fine. I run 205M's as do alot of guys I shoot with.

I figured as much as I use them in my 30br and they work great. Im building a 6BR for a fun gun and was wanting to use them.

Tinman,

You can use any primer, however the chronograph will tell you which is the best one. I switched from CCI BR4's to CCI 450's and my E.S. dropped into the single digits. That's why I use 450's. A nice bonus is the price difference I've saved.
Powder Valley has 450's for $117.50 per 5000. I just got an order from them last week.

"Ditto" to what dreever said. The exact same thing happened when I tried br4's, then switched to cci-450's. That's trying different powders & seat depth's. I believe cci is currently altering something in their production from what some on this site have stated. Not sure what is being changed. An attempt at a higher standard? Maybe some in the know can chime in.
