Who's shooting a 6-284 repeater?

I am asking because i am collecting my parts and real close to sending them out for my first 6-284 build on a Remington 700 long action. I want to use this as a repeater and want to know who is shooting them as such and what method you are using, BDL setup or a DBM. Mine will be shooting 90gr. and under with a 10 twist. I have a stock and a BDL setup but i want reliability.....so if a DBM is a better way to go i would like to know so i can start looking to buy 1 or place an order for 1. I would like to hear from anyone shooting this caliber in a setup like these 2 and hear your opinions good or bad so i know what i am getting into and help me make a wize choice. I would be bummed to get something back only to find out that i would be cussing at it with every bad name under the sun. ;D Ok, i am all ears and ready to soak in some info :)

Thanks,
Dan

my 6-284 is bdl and feeds very nicely...i am a ghog hunter and occasionally need followup shots...not very often since this is one of my most accurate varmint guns. had problems with another bdl feeding but corrected it by squeezing the angles of the magazine spring. a friend really hates his dbm since feeding is not smooth. also the dbm is what is says...detachable, sometimes when you don't want it to do so, like when your in the field. some like them, jmo.

Have one in the works. Bat VR, Manners T2, Pac Nor 1/12 3 Groove, Surgeon DBM.
Its a 6/284 improved will work just fine. Never had any problems with the ones Tooley built for me.

I am going to buy some 6.5-284 Lapua brass and measure the necks. What kind of neck clearance are you guys running on these and i am looking to do a no turn neck. I was thinking on the lines of like .003 clearance with a loaded round. I may have to buy a reamer set up the way i want it, not sure.

Good question . I buy Lapua brass size it down in Redding FL dies load it and shoot. I have turned necks before just to clean them up ,but in field conditions I'll never be able to tell the difference.......... Who is your gun smith ?

dtucker, tried a no turn on old Winchester brass (.277) DONT GO THERE! Best luck has been with a .270 Lapua. Mine are used for coyote hunting only I load em HOT barrel doesnt last very long.
ironworker, Mike Bigelow is his name. One of Randy Robbinet buddies. Very easy to get along with and does fantastic work.

I have used several smiths and have always had great results. As far as this build goes i have spoke to Frank ( 40XGUY ) and i am going to call Neil up and speak with him about maybe doing this build. I have also been thinking of trying out Bob Green. I do want a no turn neck and use 6.5-284 brass and thinking a total of .003 clearance. I am going to build a repeater and just have not made up my mind if i am going with a DBM yet.
