Ok, i am going to have my first 6-284 build and would like some input from you fellows. This build will be on a rifle i purchased for a donor. The action is going to be a Remington 700 long action and i will be using the trigger from it also and get it worked over. I will have the action gone through as always. Right now i have a older mint Sendero stock that will be used on the build and i am going with a Sendero contour barrel to drop in the stock. I am not wanting to shoot the heavy bullets and will limit it up to about 95 grain bullets and would like to go down to maybe 70 grain bullets. What would be the prefered twist, a 9 or 10 twist? I will be using this setup as a repeater and do have the BDL bottom metal for the stock. How reliable will this be feeding and would i maybe be better off going to a DBM setup instead? I would prefer to use my existing bottom metal as i already have it but am willing to go to a DBM if it is needed for reliability. For you guys that have 1 are you neck turning yours and have a tight neck chamber? Not sure if maybe i should order a reamer for this also. I would like to be able to seat these into the lands also if needed when working up a load. I am just looking for some info on the best way to set this up. Is their a prefered neck clearance that you want when you have it chambered? I am thinking of going 26 inches max on the barrel length on this build also. Do you guys have any recommendations on someone who builds a mean 6-284? I am sure i will have some other questions but for now i think that is a good start. Thanks fellows for any helpful information and i am all ears right now ;D
