Who supplied the rem xr100 thumbhole stocks?

I thought I read somewhere who built these stocks for Remington but I can't seem to find the article now.

Any thoughts?

I read somewhere it wasn't a Boyd's but rather a company like s&k but I haven't been able to track down where I read it. It was a few years ago that I saw the article.

Remington wouldnt spend 34hrs on each stock getting the beaver tooth and chainsaw marks off. Id bet its keystone sporting arms or their own stock dept

When my Mom worked for Boyds she said they sent many stocks to Remington. It sure looks like one of their stocks to me.

Just a little off topic but I can't see Richard's Micro -Fit turning out a quality finished stock like that. Been there, seen the results and no way could it happen. Have received a couple that were getting close but not "that close". More like a Boyd's if anything.

XR-100(2005-2007) stocks may have been supplied by S&K Industries located in Lexington, MO. In 2009 Remington acquired the stock manufacturing assets of S&K Industries.

Fajen was gone by the time the XR100 was introduced. What a shame they were a great company.

Stocks seem to be one of the best guarded secrets in the business.

My Remington 40X Targetmaster from the Remington Custom Shop came with the laminated thumbhole stock and it is not like the Boyd's that I have. Seems heavier, larger and better made, but that is all subjective. I was told by Dakota Arms (where the Remington Custom Shop now is) that the stock was supplied by the same people that supply the Tracker stock, from the plant that makes the Rutland grade, but I also was told that plant had burned down a year or so ago. I also have a Non-Thumbhole Laminated stock on my Remington 700 VLS Varmint Rifle that looks like an exact match of wood except without the thumbhole.

I did get an Obeche African Walnut stock for my 6.5x47 build within the last 12 months.
