Installing it the way they did eliminates having to machine an opening in the bottom of the check piece and keeps the integrity of the glass/carbon shell intact. Also on a side note. if you buy a stock from McMillan and it has an adjustable comb and a RAD recoil system installed by them, the above listed comb hardware will be installed upside down from the norm and the knob will be on the comb. I have a Kestros F-Class stock with the RAD II and thats how McMillan installs the comb to fit with the RAD system.Interesting. I would have imagined both pieces flush with their respective part of the stock. On the cheek piece - are there through holes so you can adjust the fitment of the hardware?
Lookin good buddy!
Probably the robin egg blue like the one above. What color you going with?
Looks great, clean installation.
What color you going with?
What did you end up doing, just taking the screws out and epoxy or use as pillars? Regardless, looks just like McSwirly did it.![]()
We retired from manufacturing the cheek hardware and adjustable butt assemblies and convinced a friend to "take over". Here's a link to our post on the National Match forum:KMW, makes the most rugged version, and McGee makes the most elegant adjustable version.
