Who Makes Custom 20 Caliber bullets?

Terry,

I am currently testing a 48 Grain HPRBT 20 caliber bullet that a good friend of mine designed. It does require a 9 twist barrel to stabilize. If it's something you might be interested in let me know and I can get you in touch with him.

Here are a few I have jotted down over the years , but I don't know if all are still in existence today : BlackHole Bullets , BIB , Calhoon , Custom Reloading Tools , Schroeder , Lucas , Badger Ridge , Unmussig , NoName Bullets , and Certech .

Explain to me what a rebatted bullet is and how it functions compared to a BT base bullet ! What are the advantages of the rebate ?

I have shot the Badger Ridge bullets in my coyote gun, they are flat out awesome,I want to try some of Blaine bullets too,I have some of the BiBs I need to try as well, not enough time in the day.

I dug out some of my old 20 Cal. Bullets . That 48 Gr. looks very similar to my old Lucas Bullets which weigh an actual 40.6 Gr . They are 0.708 in. OAL . These Bullets came from Lucas in Montana.

I'm interested in trying the 48s

How does a guy get a box?

Look at high speed photos of bullets exiting the muzzle.

One wilk see powder gas moving in front of the bullet, forcing it to fly through disturbed air.

The effect is not as dramatic with flat base bullets, which explains why hyper precision contestants often use flat base for shorter range competitions.

The rebated boattail is claimed to act like a flat base in directing gas away from the bullet'ts path while, at the same time, giving most of the ballistic advantages of a boat tail.

I'm going to presume Brad and Sherm are talking about Badger Bob's bullets. Pardon me if I'm wrong.
Problem now is getting those jackets to make the 48's.
I was over there a couple days ago and we were experimenting with a 46.5 grain low drag bullet built with the next shorter jacket. Bob tried it in a 20Practical and a 20tactical both with 11 twist barrels. All bullets went straight through the paper with no keyhole. Practical didn't group very well but it is historically picky. The tactical shot extremely well, groups were 4 under a dime with round number 5 out about a quarter inch. Very interesting bullet possibility for 11 twist medium size cases. These rifles were ar-15's one 16" the other was a 18 or 20". I think the velocity was around 3500 on the practical and too cloudy and dark for the crony on the second test. Next step is a test in 11 twist 204R bolt rifle for accuracy and velocity. This is a really fun and exciting experiment. I am gaining some good info. I also learned making bullets sucks. 6 pulls of the handle through different dies for each one plus lubing and cleaning steps.
