Who makes affordable laminate stocks?

Tommie, what problems did you have with the Richards micro fit? Might save me some grief......rsbhunter

As far as I can tell their stocks are inletted by crack smoking gibbons with hatchets. Other than that, no problem.

What action and inlet? I went with an old 40xb stock for my SA 700 used parts gun. Was under $100 shipped with all hardware (which was a killer deal, admittedly) but is a great stock with a comfy profile for on the bags or in the sling.

788. Definitely limits the options.

Funny that you say "Never again" on the Richard's Micro Fit stocks. I have or have had close to 10+ (that I can remember) and no issues. I think I have 5 of my own now?
I love their selection of styles and lam colors. Better than most out there as far as cost and style selection. So it takes a bit of work to make it yours, that's what building is all about.

Got 3 of them myself. Good stock for the money.

I used a bunch of Richards MF stocks and haven't been disappointed yet.
Got this one from the bargain bin for around $125. It took some work but that's part of the fun, and you can make it fit exactly the way you like it.

Go a little farther and add a "Whiden V Block". No worries about the inlet. Got 3 + set up that way. There's your "drop in fit". As far as the butt pad? I get mine installed when ordering.;)

Walking hunter, not too bad on the bench? To consider such a broad compromise, the preference for me would be to insure that first and foremost it must function for hunting, then I would make accomodations for targets. I am happy with my Boyds Varmint stock, which is styled similar to Mc T5 and Manners T4. I am a prone shooter and it suits hunting and targets as a decent compromise, and several customization options are available to suit personal interests. The primary issue on the bench would be the oval forend fit in a rest, but no problem if using a bipod. Personally I do not like the At One, too many plastic gimmicks to suit my taste.
