Who is the 44mag reloading expert?

If you’d like, I will run up a progressive load chart on Quickload for you, showing pressures and velocities. What length barrel are you using and how many grains of H20 does it take to fill a primed case?

Power Pistol is the best practical powder for; 25acp, 32acp, 380, 9mm, 40sw, 10mm, and 45 acp.

H110, W296, or LIL'GUN are the best powder for 32 S&W Long, 32-20, 38 sp, 357 mag, 41 mag, 44 mag, 45 Colt.

For 44 mag 240 gr, 24 gr H110, roll crimp into cannelure. The crimp keeps recoil from pulling bullets and jamming the revolver.
Works for Ruger 44 mag carbine, Winchester 94 carbine, and S&W 29-4 revolver

2400 with Hornady 300gr XTPs is the way to go. My Taurus Raging Bull with 8-3/8” barrel will shoot 6 rounds in less than 2.5” at 100 yards with open iron sights from sandbags. That’s as good as my eyes can do with open sights at that range so I’m sure the gun is more accurate than me. I have a Holosun 507c reflex sight I’m going to put on it. I’m sure the sight will help produce even smaller groups at 100.

I also run Hornady XTPs (180gr) in my 10mm’s and they are very accurate. Always had excellent luck with accuracy from the XTP line. Every gun I’ve run XTPs in liked them a lot with multiple loads. Very forgiving.

I don’t normally like very much from Hornady but I swear by their XTP handgun bullets. I haven’t tried their 240gr XTP in 44 cal but I’m sure they would be just as good as the 300gr. Nice thing is the 240gr XTP is available at retailers right now. 300gr might be pretty tough to track down.
