Who is Markiplier?

A customer and good friend of my Grandson came into the shop today with 2 personally signed T shirts for 2 of my Grand Daughters from Mark Plier. This must be a GenZ thing. Andrew has written and mixed music for video games for several years and does stuff for this guy. I think it was very nice of him to do it. Some of you younger guys may have heard of him.

My favorite game was Asteroids. They had one at my favorite bar! I had high score for a while. Is it still popular?
ME TOO!!!! Skipped outta school daily, drove two buddies 6 miles in my Datsun PU to Baden Bowl, where I threw away countless dollars playing it to Boston and Kansas tracks in the bowling alley. In fact my HS yearbook has me caught in the act playing.

I knew you had class Josh, but this cements it.

I spent my high school years keeping a Hadaka B model running and up grading it. Ever lace a 21 inch wheel to a hub that came with a 19 inch? My first road trip alone was to Titusville in my dads VW to get one of the new 125 Hodaka air filters that didn't have water problems. Water in the filter and engine is a real problem when you ride in the swamp. Not something that would even be on the radar in Southern California.

It is “more than a feeling ………..when I hear that old song playing” !!

I'm 81yrs old and haven't played since Donkey Kong. My point was Mark was gracious enough to write nice things on a couple TShirts, run off the plane at DFW, hand them to Andrew who was kind enough to drive from east of Dallas to the airport and pick them up.
To me it is the thought that counts.

I had a Wombat that had a lot of modifications done before me. It was a friend of my dad's that gave it to us. There was an issue with the shifter and when I took off the side case the linkage had popped out of place. I popped it back in and road it all over the local trails for a few years.

The clutch died and my dad took it to a bike repair shop. The guy told him it wasn't worth repairing so it went in the scrap heap. My next bike was a Yamaha YZ125. It was a big step up in performance and suspension.

I bet it went in the shop's "scrap heap" right into his private collection. The clutch is nothing and that was a great bike.

I spent a few truck loads of quarters back when Arcades were a thing. Then got into home gaming, worked hard starting a business and found it to be a great stress relief. I finally quit around age 40, spent that time elsewhere. Modern day gaming is mind blowing, 3 of my 7 kids still game a lot after hours. If one of them get a little out of balance then they get a one on one chat with me. Asteroids was my favorite back in the arcade days, Halo was the one that got the most time at home. I’d probably still buy an asteroids machine if I ever saw one on the cheap that worked.

He's a really popular YouTuber. Probably one of the most wholesome guys in the community. Basically most of his videos are just him playing various games and he has a face cam in the upper left hand corner and you get to listen to him give commentary, and see his reactions. Used to love to watch him play horror games because his reactions there halarious.
Honestly out of all the YouTubers out there he's one of the best. He's dotn a few streams where people would donate and think they averaged alike $10k and de donated most to charity. He's also been very outspoken about depression and mental health. Alot of the community it's actually very protective of the guy just because when everything else sucks it's nice to have someone like him around .

Could be. This was mid 80s so I doubt the shop owner even cared.

I did a little digging around the web for pics of one and found out it was a Super Combat Wombat.

When I got it, the engine was painted black, and it had an aftermarket plastic tank. Someone had welded tabs on the frame for the rear shocks to "lay down" more and raise the rear. I still can remember that huge rear sprocket
