I am so old that in computer class back in 8th grade we had wang computers that we had to punch IBM cards for and it would only add, multiply, subtract, and divide as I recall,The following year calculators started to become cheaper and that was that. I don't have quickload and have survived nicely for 34 years of reloading.

When you were in the 8th grade I had two years in the military and over the hump, I have Quickload, I build computers and reload.

You need to remember what Clint Eastwood said in the movie "Heartbreak Ridge", 'Improvise, Adapt and Overcome!' (and remember to upgrade) ::)

DITTO. I just love giving those kids odd change so I get even dollars back. They stand there so dumb founded looking, it just makes my day.

I started reloading rifle ammo in 1953. Could be that I m an old dinosore sp and have collected a bunch of reloading books , tools and supplies.. But no Quickload.

for me quickload is just one more "resource" to confer with and decide on were to start my own testing. Would you take one of your best reloading books and burn it because it's too new or complex for you to be willing to understand?

I don't like computers..................or people who like computers!

Are your tools made from stone?

And would you let the guy below reload your ammo?

And I know you wouldn't like me, I have three computers in my man cave, one running Windows 7 and two running Linux.

I know what is Linux................. its the "other" sexy and "free" operating system.

Can you get her to face forward ?....LOL

I still use a flip phone, read books, and use my reloading manual. My daughter gave me this tablet and I use it for the only socia media I use. This forum.
For 56 years I worked up loads, yes I do use a chronograph and have for years.
I guess at 70 I am not going to change much

Computer's as a whole are just a very DUMB piece of TECHNOLOGY it only knows what you tell it to work right, other wise it just sits there and does NOTHING.
You need a program such as Quick Load and your shooting data imputed to the computer too find out what you want.

I'm not an old dinosaur (only in my 30s), but I don't use Quickload either. I have several computers and like the tools that are available with them. I see some merit to OCW and OBT theories, but I don't need a computer program to tell me those things. Reloading manuals and online resources like Hodgdon give me the information I need to begin load development. I own a chronograph and use it fairly frequently, but I develop my loads first and then verify FPS, SD, and ES with the load that performs best. Maybe Quickloads would help me reduce my load development time, but to me $150 is alot of powder, primers, and bullets. Plus, shooting is more fun that sitting in front of a computer screen. I only reload for 4 cartridges currently, so maybe Quickloads is more useful if you reload for several cartridges.

Down in the Antipodes we use Nick Harvey's first reloading manual and go to 1/2 grains off maxi and almost immediately you are in the sweet zone.Later manuals were taken over by the powder company are absolute rubbish. Many loads are not even proof read.Love to use that Linux QT'ee load.Shore is purdy. LOL. :D

I find my loads the old fashioned wqy, starting low, work up, go a bit farther, then back down, then I optimize COAL. I have been thinking about getting QL just to find out whats happening with the load I settle on. I dont trust the Chrons.

Tried to upload a picture of my P.O. Ackley book, Speer Wildcat manual and a couple ballistic slide-rules from the 50's and 60's.

Darn Photobucket and this computer are NOT talking together today. Neither can shoot my rifles either.

QL is a very useful tool. It has saved me a lot of range time, brass prep, powder, primers and barrel life.
It isn't gospel but still useful.
Sometimes, just like a borescope, it may tell you things you really were better off not knowing.

No "Quick Load" here. I use "Load From A Disk" because it was inexpensive and all I want to do is make sure I'm not going to blow something up when I start a new load. The rest is handled "old school".

I'm one of those that doesn't feel I need "What everyone else has" in order to get the job done.

I don't have a Forster Coax press, a Harrel's powder measure, Wilson dies, arbor press, a super-duper custom laminated stock, custom action, Jewell Trigger, etc. I do have a rifle or two that shoot sub 1/4 MOA on a daily basis.

I guess I'll get by without "Quick Load" and also a "Smart Phone". More money in my pocket for components.

hitting the big 80 this year, I have a little time with guns, got my first 22 at age 5 cause Dad did not think bb guns were safe, spent the first 5 years with it bring meat to the table when we had food rationing.

I have lyman manuals, going back to the late 40's and Sierras also, use the web to check AA, Hodgden, Western Alient data then do my own work, ;
some folks talk about saving range time, -- that is part of the game, and where you learn what the equipment really does.

>>> would you let the guy below reload your ammo?

I thought everyone used a ball peen hammer to reload with. Don't you?
