White River LR primers: cup depth?

Went to load some of these into new 7PRCW cases tonight and found they wouldn't pass through from the feed tray of the RCBS hand primer to the insertion chamber. The RCBS has always handled any other brand of primer I threw at it.

I measured five Fiocchi and five White River: the Fiocchis averaged just over 0.125" and the White Rivers just under 0.135. Anyway, it was enough so they wouldn't pass through the tool.

Has anyone else found this?

I didn't measure them, but they're definitely fat no matter what way you look at them. They seated nice and tight in my Lapua PRC brass and to get to seat flush I needed to use my primer pocket cleaning tool to remove a little excess carbon I had in the pockets.

Unfortunately my initial load testing and accuracy with them wasn't great, running a variety of ADI2209 loads. S&B primers producing better figures so far in comparison.

These have only started showing up late last year, and sales to OEM ammo plants were taking priority so reloaders in the US are just starting to find them at distributors.
Kiwis and Ozzies are finding them earlier than folks who are near where they were made.
In for the range reports from down under.

Well 99% of the time, we are the poor cousins and get components late if at all. Makes a nice change :)

For the moment, I'll just install them individually and see how they shoot. Hope my gun behaves differently to yours Willow.

It may be the calibre I've chosen more than anything. I've got some primers loaded in some 7SAUM Improved brass I hope to try this weekend. I'm awaiting a shipment of RWS primers to land in the next couple of weeks and they should be as good a test as any to put them up against for comparison.

They can be up to 0.135. When seated it gives a little crush of the anvil into the compound to improve performance.
I just measured some 9 1/2 @ .133 compared to some BR-2 at .126. Takes a lot more force to get the Remingtons flush.

Buddy is using them in his 284 F Open brass that has about 8 plus firings on them with BR2 s said they fit like it was New brass with BR2s A bit bigger for sure but great for LOTs Shot brass .
