Whipped to death

I know this subject has been whipped to death. Here is my attempt to flog it just a little bit more. I just acquired a new 6mmBR on 11/11. I am in the very preliminary stages of load testing. The static components are Lapua brass, CCI 400 primers, and Nosler 70 gr. Ballistic tips. Accuracy has been so-so. Right now I'm wondering if my problem is just getting used to a gun, weather conditions,it was windy when I was shooting), or my loads.
First of all, the loads I tested were a little low on velocity from what I expected from a 26" barrel, 14” twist . I was expecting velocities in the 3300-3400 fps range. My loads were:

H335 31 gr. 3250 fps.
BL-C,2) 33 gr. 3068 fps.
Varget 32 gr. 3171 fps.

After a little more research I've decided to bump my loads up a bit with the H335 and Varget. I will head to the range on Friday with new loads to see what changes. The new loads will be:

Varget 34 gr.
H335 32 gr.
VV N135 33 gr.
Benchmark 32 gr.

Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

First, pick a powder and stay with it till you can prove it wont work. many powders = information overload

I'd run benchmark or 135 with the 70-btip

load incremental charges and shoot some 3-shot groups. Or shoot a single shot ladder test, and go from there with a few 3-shot groups let us know what you get...

Don't know about the other powders you mentioned, but with n135, I'd start quite a bit lower than 33 grains and work up. My bolt gets real sticky at 32.8 gr with a 12 twist and 68gr Fowlers seated right on the lands. You have a slower twist, so you may have some more room than me, but I'd still start way lower than 33 grains. Many guys I have talked with seem to like about 31.5 gr of N135 behind a 68gr bullet. My findings have been 31.5gr of N135 is very accurate for me and gives me 3324-3340fps out of a 21 inch barrel. I'm using a fed 205 primer.

This might help a little. My 1:14 .265 Neck dia. 6BR Hart likes the following:
34.5 gr. Varget - CCI 450 sm. mag. primer - 65 grn. Hornady V-Max touching the lands.

31.0 gr. N135 - Fed. sm. rifle match primer - 65 grn. Hornady V-Max touching the lands.

I'm still experimenting with 68gr. bullets and 70 grn. bullets but those two loads are capable of shooting <3/8" 5 shot groups at 200 yards. I only play with one powder at a time. When I find a charge that works with a given bullet I'll begin tweaking. When I finally perfect that load, I'll start on another. One has to be aware of sensory overload, it can mess you up. One at a time works for me.

I thought I'd leave an update to my load workup. I hit my target velocity with the Varget and VV N135, 3361 & 3400 respectively. I changed primers from CCI400 to Rem. 7 1/2. Three shot groups from both loads were in the high .1's to low .2's at 100 yds.
I maintained a cleaning regime between groups and began each group with a stone cold barrel. VV N135 appears to burn slightly cleaner but I will have to get back to you on that.
Both loads shot to the same POI.
Neither showed any pressure signs at all.
