I bought these for my 308 and my 6SLR. How did I reload this long with out them. I've been using the Hornady caliper attachment for yrs. They are ok, but these guys from John are just too good. I will have a set for every caliber that I reload.

I have nothing to do with the manufacturer. Over the yrs I've bought a few things from Whidden, and a lot of other places. These little tools just work so well, so easy and so convenient on the bench that I felt compelled to comment on them.

Couldn't agree with you more! I have one I use for my 6.5L I bought last fall when they had a sale on them, I couldn't be happier.

What lead me too look for them, I was watching a much younger David Tubbs on Sierras High power rifle reloading video and he was using something similar to Whiddens but made by RCBS.

What's the advantage of these over the Hornady caliper gauges?
They're pretty.

That's what I thought. They do look pretty. I may be wrong but from what I can tell from similar devices, they give you a +- number as opposed to an actual measurement. I prefer the direct measurement.

I get more consistent answers than with the Hornady tool. For setting up my sizing dies they give me what I need for shoulder set back. It's easier for me to remember one of the 308 barrels I'm shooting right now is at "0" one is at "+3" than the actual caliper measurement.

I've got two Hornady attachments for my calipers, and I could use at least two more. I always need the 308 and 223 ogive inserts in, then I need another for the .375 datum line.

It's also really easy to grab the tool and figure out which rifle fired that bag of brass I forgot to label.

giving credit where credit is due, Mo Defina at Master Class Sports has been making the original gauge for over 40 years, what RCBS copied. google Mo's gauge to see a picture. He still makes them but you have to use the telephone to talk with him, he in his seventies and still runs his shop in CT. No reloader, especially for semi auto, should be without these.
