Which Would You Prefer - a 25 or 30-Round Ammo Caddie?

Friends,

(First of all, Thank You to the many who have bought Ammo Caddies from me!)

Please, understand that I am not soliciting orders now, nor will I accept any orders until I have Caddies ready, or almost-ready, to ship.

Here is my question –
How many rounds would you prefer ‘your’ Ammo Caddie to hold, 25 or 30 rounds?

• Prices for the 25-round Caddies (6mm-family, 308, 284) including the Timer, will remain at $70 in person, or $78 with Priority Shipping.
- For the 300WSM, 7mmSAUM, etc., will be special order, and the prices will remain $80 and $88.

• Prices for the ‘new30-round Caddies (6mm-family, 308, 284), including the Timer, will be $80 in person, or $88 with Priority Shipping; and $10 higher for the Magnum cartridges.

NOTE: On special request, I have made a handful of custom 30-round Caddies, but since I have no jigs for these, they cost quite a bit more than I like. However, if I know that I will be making more 30-round Caddies than just two or three, I will make the jigs, and will be able to offer the prices as quoted above, $80 or $88.

I will really appreciate your input, and please feel free to answer as a post to this thread, or send me a PM, or an email. Again, there is absolutely no commitment to buy an Ammo Caddie – just share with me what your preference would be.

Thanks!

Alex

PS. I have sold several Ammo Caddies over the last couple of weeks, and other than for two Caddies for .223 and, a special 60-round 22LR Caddie with 2+ hr timer, right now I am out of the 6mm-family, 308, 284 Caddies.

As you may know if your read one of my threads a few weeks ago, I have been unable to do any wood work since early December due to two detached retinas – back-to-back. I am recuperating well, and hope to start making the Ammo Caddies again; hopefully sometime in the next few weeks.

Alex, I like the 30rd caddy you made for me for F-class. Although 5 rounds for sighters would suffice on most '1st strings', I occasionally shoot more than that. Also, on the rare occasion that a 'record' round does not feel right when chambering I like having an extra or two to exchange when it occurs.

You see, when I started making the Ammo Caddies, they were for 22 rounds; but it did not take long before I had multiple requests for 25 round versions, so that is what I started making as standard. After I made your 30-round Caddie, I have made four more for 30-round, and wondered how popular they may be - if at $10 more than the 25-round.

I will continue (resume, that is) making the 25-round Caddies, of course; but was wondering whether it would be worth to make the tooling for the 30-round Caddie.

Thx!

Alex

Great - Thanks!

There is no obligation, so keep your preferences coming -

I've shot a lot of Ground Hog Matches over the years and going back thru my notes it seems like the majority of rounds fired during the matches has been between 25 and 28. So I'd say a 30 would do for most matches.
