I just don't understand the negative responses to hunting deer with a 223Rem. Deer aren't very hard to kill. With the inherent accuracy potential of most 223 bolt rifles these days and shot placement being key in ANY caliber, I say a partition will most surely get the job done. Hit a deer with a neck shot and I think they won't get far. Deer are no harder to kill than a man and many a man has been put in the ground with a 5.56 bullet. I have seen guys gut shoot deer with 300 mags and lose the animal. At 100 yds putting a Nosler partition through a deer's eyeball would be easy with my old model 70 in 223. A quick and deadly neck shot even easier.
