Which scope!!??

I'm in the market to top off my new build with a scope. Not sure which one to get- I do like the 5-7 low end powers on the swarwoski 5-30 and the loopy 7-42.

Options:swarwoski z6 5-30

Nightforce nsx 8-32

Leupold vx6 7-42. What's y'all's take?

I have a VX3 6.5-20 x 40 Leupold with a varmint crosshair on my 22BR. I have hit varmints out to 800yds. and hit the gong at 1000yds with it. With 77MOA and the other hairs in the reticle this should fit your bill. Range finding is also nice on it.

Just a thought....

I really have been enjoying my new NXS 8x32 mainly used in factory varmint shoots out to 500 yards - good all around scope.

From your 3 listed I would go with the NF. If weight is a factor I would look at the Sightron S-III 8-32x56 with the LRMOA reticle and use the $ you save on ammo and the best trigger you can afford.

My VX6 7x42 Leupold is very repeatable, I use it on my L.G. in 1000 yard Comp. Was switching back and forth between my light and heavy gun with three turns difference between the two and the elevation was still right on. Great scope!

Bullets.com has the March scopes with a 15% discount. You can get a 2.5X25, 5X32, 5X50, or 8X80, or 10X60. They are a very premium scope and can be a lot more versatile than the ones listed. http://www.deon.co.jp/march/Products.htm

Got a link to this? Bullets.com website doesn't even list March scopes. However Graf's has about the same discount on Nightforce scopes on closeout.

Dave,
If you want the best get a March. You didn't check my link did you? If you read what Shiraz is saying, the new website will be up in a few days. The Deon website lists all models of their scopes and all of the reticules that are available.

Dave,
Go to the Bulletin board on this forum. A big article is printed there.

Bullets.com and March Scopes — Facts and Figures

Bullets.com has ordered inventory and will have some models in stock by the end of June. All popular models should be in stock by the end of August 2015.
Bullets.com will be stocking 60 different models and reticle styles of scopes — ready to ship the same day.
A new web site, www.MarchOpticsusa.com, will have product information by the end of June.
A Bullets.com engineer is traveling to the March factory in Japan to get factory training on the servicing of the scopes. This will allow Bullets.com to provide improved technical support for North American customers.

Butch,

Would you care to explain how and why the March is the best scope? I owned one and my opinion they aren't what they are talked up to be.

James,
I'm kinda like you only I used to have Nightforce. I prefer the March.

There is a phone number to call or email directly to service, where they know about March scopes and can answer pricing and model questions.

Personally, I own 13 March scopes of various flavors, and these were bought from Kelbly, and before we had the distributorship. Most are the 10-60. One thing I will be frank about is that even though it is a "sixty" power scope, I usually keep it at 52 power for the matches and then bring it down to around 40 power in nasty mirage conditions. The only time I will use around 60 power is on a dark overcast, gloomy day (we get a lot of those here in the Pacific NW). Point to note, the March is brighter at 52 power than it is at 60 power. I used the March on the last three major Team match wins where our 4 man team won the last two F-Open National Championships, The Berger Team match in 2014 and set the current National record at 800, 900 and 1000 yard match last year. Plus also used it when I won the Canadian Nationals last year. They were different March scopes on different rifles. Ironically, I won a NF scope for the National Championship win :).

In my personal opinion March is the best scope for match shooting out there. You could say it is a biased opinion, but I have been using these scopes since they first came out back in 2008ish and have tried many other brands including Schmidt & Bender, US Optics etc. Prior to March I was a firm believer of NF, which is also a very good line of scopes. You cannot go wrong with either, but the March has been better for me.
