Which rings for Savage PTA and Benchsource/NF combo

I need to order my Burris Signature rings today but not sure which height due to the Benchsource 20 MOA base. It appears to add some height. I want the BR 12-42 to sit as low as possible.

I do not have the base yet to take any measurements from either.

Tall or medium height?

It is the 56 mm objective Night force scope...looks like I cant find a Benchsource base in stock anywhere but found a Talley 20 moa for 59 bucks....
It appears to be a standard height type base.

1holeaddict....what scope with your combo?

I used "medium" Burris rings with my SavagePTA, Benchsource 20moa, and an 8-32x56 SIII. Keep in mind the objective on your NF will be larger than mine, but there would still be enough room.

The benchsource is a bit higher than the other brands, so if you use a different base i would definately order your rings in "high". The Ken Farrell target base is a very nice base, but pretty steep at about $110. I have lately been using the EGW HD bases and they are excellent. Much nicer than their standard base, and costs about $70.

Heres a pic of the benchsource, medium ring, SIII combo I mentioned, just to give you an idea of how it fit.

I just ordered the Talley 20 moa one piece base and extra high rings from Midway. Ordered my scope from Europtic....

Couldnt find the benchsource in stock and their sight seemed to be having problems when I tried to order direct.

Now the waiting game!

Pdog I like the blue/green!

Thanks Dave. I was really wanting to avoid the highrise look but was afraid the high would not be enough with a normal base.

I will post up some pics when I get it all together. My calculations came out as needing 18.5 mm from bottom of scope tube to action to clear objective bell. Of course the barrel taper will help some but was afraid the high would be pushing it on a straight taper.

Savage PTA is also 1.350" for reference as well.
