Which Rear Bag for PRT Stock

What specs do most of you recommend for a rear bag made by either protektor or edgewood?

Height, material (corder, leather), ears (lo, mid or high), stitching, space between ears, etc.

It will be used for F-Open in conjunction with a sinclair front rest with f class attachments. My rifle will have the "Low Boy" F- Open stock from Precision rifle and tool.

Thanks

I use a Protektor Dr. Bag, cordura top with excellent results. I got mine from Sinclair.

I saw those but it says the spacing is 1/2" and I believe the Precision rifle and tool stock needs to be in a 5/8" - 3/4" spacing in between the ears.

Suit yourself...

I use mine with a PRT lowboy and and a seb neo in f-class open.

The combo works very, very well.

I use a PR&T stock and i use a Doctor bag I have one cordura ears with the spacing you need. i went to the same with leather for better tracking. I shoot bench rest and they flat work with the Sinclair front rest. I would let it go but the shipping would kill you full of heavy sand. If your interested send me a PM....... jim

I do not want the butt of my stock to fit the bottom of my bag.

what is your reasoning for this?? i am just curious not saying that there is anything wrong i am just in search of knowledge

I think you let the bag touch each side to guide the butt, not wanting the butt to touch the bottom with little support to either side of the butt stock.

i guess where i am getting at is it to control elevation of the butt? or tracking purposes?

The rear bag does both regardless if it fits the stitching or the sides of the bag. Buy a coaxial for the front and don't worry about the butt.

What is the opinion of a bag with slope or no slope for an f class stock with a flat and a butt that is parallel to the forend?

Ditto, nosualc. Here's some pics of mine in the bag. I have both angled and flat rear bags and I prefer the flat (no slope). And like Butch says, I don't like my stock to bottom out in the ears, which is why I like the 1/2" spacing.

what is on the MAC if i may ask?

That's the image from my target cam system, zoomed in on the middle of the target. That's at 600 yards, so the target dot is 3". I use a MR-1FC target, turned around, because I can see the rings through the backside so I can keep score and track adjustments during practice sessions.

that is awesome, one day i will have my own back-yard range. Not say that you do but i still want one.
