Which PPC cartridge?

Since you have a Farley with a PPC bolt face you might as well forget sending it back to Farley to open up the boltface. If you want to go that route you would have to find a gunsmith that has a jig sent up for a Farley bolt if you want to open it up to .473. If it were me I'd just get another barrel chambered in 6PPC and run with it.
Carlsbad can open the boltface up.

Is this a joke? You're asking about the 6PPC and don't know what N133 is for? I'm out..............

I appreciate your kindness. I was riding home from a three day scout campout with my son when I asked. Sorry the purpose for N133 slipped my mind while I was busy being a father......

LT 32 will work for the 6ppc and the 30Major I mentioned earlier in the thread......Just Sayin'

I read about the 30 Major the other day and I saw someone at the match shooting the 6 Grinch. Both seem very smart and the 30 seems practical for the type of shooting I'd be doing.

I'm not invested in any personal dies yet, but I am able to chamber my own barrel as long as I have the reamer for it. I have access to a number of reamers including 6PPC and 6 Dasher. We don't have a 30 Major on hand but that's easily solved should I go that direction.

You can always just get @gunsandgunsmithing to chamber you up a 30 major to see if you like that route. The dies are way simpler than a ppc and you wont have a one use reamer sitting around if you dont like it.

Go back 6ppc. If not, ^^^^^^ is the easy button. Plus @gunsandgunsmithing will put you in the right dies, bullets and powder for it. Hell, just tell him to go ahead and work the load up for you while he’s got it so you don’t have to get your hands dirty. :)

If your local club uses caliber neutral targets, I would definitely go with a 6ppc or a 6 Grendel

The 30-cal bullets are expensive and hard to find

I could understand that regarding the bullets. Thank you for that input.

Why are people recommending the 6 Grendel as opposed to the 6 Grinch?

Simple neck down, load, and compete.......
..and no need for custom dies. I drop a smaller bushing into a std redding type s Grendel die and go with it. It works fine but I do have to run the bushing pretty much all the way down. The bushing will size the whole neck this way, fwiw. It's the easy button to get a little more hp than a ppc and I can't say that one is any better than the other. Both shoot great.

+1^^^ If you go with the 6 Grendel you can also go with a 13.5 or 14 tw with a relatively short freebore and take advantage of all the really great 64-68gr bullets that are available. Got nothing against the 80gr bullets but there's a not nearly the selection or availability with 80's, in my experience anyway. Absolutely nothing against the 6ppc either. I have both, and really enjoy shooting the 6 Grendel. JME. WD

So any ideas where I could get ahold of a 6 Grendel reamer without a 16-24 week lead time?

4D Reamer Rentals has one but won't provide a print to verify measurements.

Try asking them who made the reamer and if there is anything on it identifying which one it is ( part # ) and give the manufacturer a call....Might not work, but it's a shot.
