I'm looking for a 22.
My issue is, I don't know which one to get. My guess is that at some point I will own them all. However, at the moment, I'm trying to pick my first.
Intended use is to have some fun. I have a ton of bulk ammo that I'd love to get rid of and if I can ping a little steel or shoot some eggs at 75-100yards and get some reps in on pulling a trigger that would be lovely. I've had several .22s over the years but am currently without one. Hence my current quandry.
I don't want to have one built. That much I know. I simply don't want to deal with sending something out for 'smithing and all the waiting and expense involved with that. I am not at all opposed to plug and play options, however. At least that way I have a rifle to shoot while I wait for whatever part it is that I want to switch.
Purpose will be all around fun with some moderate accuracy expectations. 1" at 50 on most days is fine with me using bulk ammo. Plinking and some backyard pest control are definite considerations as well. At some point, I will be running it supressed.
Do I get a bolt gun and have fun finding stocks/triggers/etc? I mean, a 700 pattern 22 does sound like a ton of fun.
Do I get a semi and swap out parts on the back porch to my hearts content? I know how much fun a semi-auto 22 can be.
I am turning to the wisdom of the hive to help me in my quest for a 22!!!
Thanks in advance.
