which front bag for choate tactical?

I was curious if anybody out there is using a choate tactical stock, and if so what front bag ate you guys using. I know it's not the best stock for bench type shooting but for now it's what I can afford. I have a cowan rest and using a protektor 2c owl ear bag, but am looking for something to take some of the stocks ability to roll out of it.
Thanks for any advice

For the style of stock you have, the solution to the issue you're dealing with is to get the forestock held firmly in the front rest. Your Cowan rest has clamping "ears" that can be used to do that.

You need to select a front bag that will allow the forestock to rest deep enough in the "groove" so that tightening the clamps on your Cowan rest will hold the forestock firmly in place.
I use both the Protektor and the Caldwell. They work fine for my rifles but unless they allow your forestock to rest deep enough in the "grooved" portion of the rest they won't do you any good.

You can get one of those flat plate sinclair bag rider things that fit a flat 3" bag. Its very hard to get a round forend not to roll. You can call protektor and maybe get one that fits better than what you have but a flat bag rider will fix the problem

Thanks for the responses. The stock has a 2 1/4 flat section on the bottom bur the sides round out to equal 2 1/2 inches overall. U wasn't sure if a squared front bag would work very well with the rounded sides

I use a 2.5" Protektor squared front bag and tighten the ears, just like Lapua40X mentioned. Just enough side tension to keep it from rolling - you don't want to clamp it too tightly.

This is a great idea. I have the Sinclair Benchrest Forend Rail Adapter which is 3" wide and mounts to the accessory rail on my Choate stock. I use it with a 3" bag but I have even used it on sand bags. I use this combination at 600 yds shooting Benchrest and it works great. It is $35.00 from Sinclair.
