My understanding is that saami spec reamers are throated for 160gr round nose. To reach the lands with a 140 vld, the bullet is barely in the neck, with a 130 jump is the only option.

A good option is a 'smith that has (or will get) a reamer with no throat. Be aware that like most SAMMI chambers, the neck on the 7X57 is tapered from the neck/shoulder junction to the case mouth. He can then throat it to your specific bullet length with your magazine length in mind. It's a bit more of an investment but also allows you to have the free bore dimension more in line with what your needs are.
