Which chassis is everyone’s favourite

So order everything for the new build, decided on a caliber and should be together in about 6 weeks. But now I need a chassis. Never used a chassis before. Heavily leaning on an mpa comp chassis. Rifle’s main focus will be target/comp. what chassis are you running.

Build is as followed;

curtis vector, 25 Creedmoor 1:7 twist medium Palma bbl at 26”, trigger tech diamond, heathen brake

E98207CB-80FD-4F5F-90E4-233A0BC65BEA.jpeg I’ve got McRee single shot chassis for a Savage Target action and for a Remington 40X. Never shot another to compare, the Mcrees shoot about as good as any pillar bedded conventional stock. Little bugholes at 100 off a bench and subMOA at 600 off a Swagger bipod.

XLR and MDT are nice.

Since the main ones are all excellent as far as easy drop in and the gun shooting well, think hard about configuration (how you want it to be set up) and accessories, I tend to say. Some regret not getting MDT for some of their spigot accessories now, and maybe wish I had the ARCA bottom on this as well. Maybe. So. Many. Options.

I went XLR Element, with the folder and am happy with it, but have seen many other good configurations and don't hate (think are a bad idea) pretty much any of them.

Ive shot a lot of chassis over the years, Eliseo, XLR, MDT, KRG. My favorites, KRG and Eliseo. The eliseo is a bit heavy for anything where you are moving around a lot, but I guess the trend in PRS is for heavier rigs to reduce movement under recoil so it could still work well there. The egos of the eliseo are extremely hard to beat. KRG are great, lots of features for the money, great ergonomics, and very well built. XLR are good, but I just didnt like them as much as KRG. Admittedly I have not tried the newer XLR envy so it could be a better. If you can try several, do, and see which one you like the best.

My experience is very limited but I DO know quality. I have an MPA Hybrid folder with the full weight system in a LA and am very pleased with it. I got a great deal on it right here from a forum member new in the box. Got the weight system and a few other accessories from MPA and found they are a good bunch to deal with over the phone with any questions you may have............Best of luck with your new build.

Regards
Rick

I've owned and used nearly every chassis system available because I like the idea and the comfort of shooting most of them.

The Cadex brand is probably the best designed as far as the packaging is concerned. The box is incredible with regard to organization and safety for shipping the product. The assembly instructions are superb. The best part though is how comfortable it is to shoot. This is the Field Competition:

The other full function adjustable chassis is the APO Carbon Fiber Chassis series Mod-1:

Albeit heavier than most of the less expensive chassis, this is the most comfortable chassis to shoot in my opinion. I have 3 currently and use them in various forms of competition.

For lighter weight and faster moving like PRS I use the XLR Element and the newer Envy. For some prone shooting, I'm testing the MDT ACC system especially for long range shooting with longer barrels.

If possible, handle and shoot as many chassis as you can because fit and comfort is what you're buying.

Ive got two XLRs. I really like them. There are others that are great but I am not looking to change.

+1 for mcrees. Rock solid and ya can call and talk to the owner of the company who is very cool to deal with.
