Which Book??? Aaargh! ;)

Guys, I've permission from the Wife for a new book....but I can't decide!

Background info??

OK, if I can't be shooting, I'll sit around and read about shooting......I have quite a few books that I re-read or look through for reference.

Here's the choices, all by Brian Litz;

Applied Ballistics for Long Range Shooting 2nd Edition
or
Accuracy and Precision for Long Range Shooting

I've read/own the first addition, do you think the additional information is worth the cost of the second book?
And the second book (I think his most recent!), could it be a re-hashing of materials already present in several other books? Not a bad thing, there are always shooters out there who haven't read the materials that have come before, and since I already have an extensive "shooting" library, I don't want something that just has materials that I already have in several other formats.

Solid Opinions of other Readers?

Got it. Read it-twice.
You must remember that I am/was medically trained and reading statistical tomes is part and parcel of what I am.
That said, I think most will get the best bang for the buck out of the first book. The second is more statistically driven.

Useful? Absolutely. A bit more esoteric/scientifically driven-yes.

If you are not tight on funds and like to read, get it.

I'm of the same attitude. I've studied so much in my lifetime, it seems I get more from books written with such an attitude.

My question would be, would you buy the second book, if you already owned the First.

Yes. Disclaimer ;D - I already bought them both. Got the 2nd edition of the first book when it first came out, bought the second about a week after release. The biggest thing I personally brought away from the second book was a greater knowledge of what aspects of shooting a string would have the biggest influence on dispersion - what aspects of reloading and of shooting conditions analysis would benefit the most from our attention, and which to address later on, after the "biggies" have been mastered.

My guess (I haven't actually read the first edition) is that if you already have the first edition of the first book, you will have more bang for your buck by buying the second book, and saving the purchase of the 2nd edition of the first book for a later date, when you can spare the cash for a very worthwhile (but not absolutely necessary right away) update of your library. Jmo
