Which battery pack to use with LabRadar units

I am seeing some posts on other websites indicating that some battery packs bought from LabRadar for use with LabRadar units have limited percent battery power after 30 or so rounds. Since I am looking to buy a LabRadar, procuring a battery pack that will last for a sufficient number of rounds (60-70 or so) is important to me. Maybe I need two such battery packs; not sure if this will work for uninterrupted recording of muzzle velocity for all 60-70 rounds during load development testing. Recognizing that information to me from LabRadar is that some other (not LabRadar) battery packs may be too powerful and may possibly damage the LabRadar, any thoughts about which battery pack provides sufficiently durable power, or do I need two LabRadar battery packs. All comments are welcome.

Don’t know what people are talking about but the power pack “currently” offered by Labradar works perfectly fine. I purchased my unit with the power pack this year. I know if using AA batteries it doesn’t last long at all, but the power pack they sell is great. I fully charged the pack and have shot with the unit turned on for about 8 hours total logging speeds so far and the digital readout on the pack says I’m still at 81% charge.

I used 3M double sided tape to mount the pack right on the radar over the AA battery door so all I do is plug in the cord and hit the power button. Just have to be very precise where you mount the pack so it doesn’t interfere with buttons or the power cord. The big cases from harbor freight work very good for storage of the radar and accessories. Even fit my small carbon fiber tripod in there with it.

A guy on eBay makes a good 3D printed aiming sight with level.

My LabRadar doesn't loose memory and I never inserted a SD card. It will store the data from 100 groups without a card. I transfer the data to a data sheet as I go so don't need the card.

I also use the LabRadar external battery. It can accommodate about 5 range sessions of 3hrs each. There are cheaper batteries on Amazon but I'd rather just spend a few bucks more and get the battery that LabRadar recommends.

Oh ok. That’s what a buddy told me so I just got the SD card and put it in right off the bat. Never tested it otherwise. I may have misunderstood him too. Edited my post

No problem. Older machines may be different, I don't know. On my (newer) machine you need to manually delete data or you'll peak out on the 100th group if you don't use a SD card..

Ledd Slinger, what model number is that carrying case for the LabRadar and accessories that you got at Harbor Freight? I want to get the right size.

I have an older unit (2017) - never run with an SD card. On/Off - Data remains in internal storage (up to some limit) until you delete it.

Past 3 years I have been using a 20,000 mah Power Juicer.
Has more then enough power to use for months on end.
About $40 bucks at Best Buy, or Walley World.

I saw somewhere back that LabRadar had put out a notice about using battery packs from unknown sources. It had to do with circuitry overpowering the LabRadar making it unusable.

More on that topic:

Of course they said that, they have a vested interest in wanting you to buy theirs. The Solar Battery is just a back up, it's primary use is not for the LR, but it does work.

Don't own one and have no idea.
However why not call the manufacturer?
