Which barrel?

Needing a new 308 barrel. Savage pre fit, large shank. My choice is Shillen or Criterion. I currently have a Shillen on my f class 223 & been very happy with it. My understanding is that some guys who worked at Shillen went out on their own and started Criterion. ?????
Criterion is $75 less. They offer a "match" barrel.
Shillen offers a "match" & a "select match", which is what my .223 barrel is.
Anyone know the difference between the two Shillen barrels?
Any experience with Criterion?

A Shilen select match barrel is inspected to slightly tighter tolerances than a Shilen match barrel. But it's possible to find a match barrel that's within select match tolerances.

Both Shilen and Criterion are at, or near the upper end of lapped, button rifled barrels. Flip a coin and you'll probably be happy. Northland Shooters Supply sells both and probably has the best price.

I've bought 4 barrels from E.R. Shaw. All 4 for hunting rifles. I've been pleased with the accuracy for their price point.
And their bluing is a thing of beauty!!
Since i just shoot local matches (sometimes), and have no aspirations of national level i may try one of their straight contour just to see how they do.

Bought a Shilen Match Select off of NSS for a benchrest build.
I was actually unhappy with their bluing!
Haven't finished the build yet. Getting a good benchrest stock isn't cheap or easy!

Friend built a 284Win using a Douglas barrel.
Stan helped him with that.
He's happy with the accuracy.
Douglas has someone else that does the bluing for them.
You send one check for the barrel, another for the bluing.

I miss talking with Stan!
My uncle did the Douglas bluing for a while
