Which all round scope?

I have been using a swarovski 6-18 X 50 on my allround rifle for a year now, The scope optically is superb but I have a few issues with it

1. I would prefer tartget turrets as I dial in alot these days

2. Front paralax, I like front paralax as its easy to fine tune but its a bit awkward.

3. The recticlue is a bit thick for paper puching it covers the centre off a benchrest target completely at 100 yards

4. The mag is a bit low for longer range work.

When I bough the scope it was perfect for what I was doing which was medium range vermin shooting but I seem to have changed what I do now and am more into longer range stuff and really enjoy a bit of long range paper punching, I need a scope that I can use for this type of shooting and mostly I want a fine recticule so I can really focus on the target.

I have one scope in mind that might do the trick, Leupold VX111 8.5-32 X 50, which reticule would you go for in this, target dot of fine plex, I am really concerned about getting a nice fine recticule.

I know I could go for nightforce but I aint so keen on them for some reason + they are very expensive, I know whatever I buy it wont beat the swarovski in optical quality but I just think the swaro is limiting me sligtly at the minute, especially on paper.

your thoughts are much appreciated

Sir, Did you happen to mean the Leupold 8.5-25x50. I don't believe they make an 8-32x50. I have the 8.5-25x50, its a great varmint scope.

Either of the two scopes being discussed will be hard to beat unless you spend some more money. And, I don't know just how much more scope you will get for the money. I have two 12 - 42 X 56 NF NXS with the DD reticle and two 8.5 - 25 X 50 Mark IV Leupolds with Mil-dot reticles. Both of these scopes are the best I ever owned but if had to part with either, the Leupolds would leave on the first truck. Just an opinion. Bill

Let's see -

A substantially higher magnification than your Swaro, front objective parallax adjustment, 1/8 MOA target turrets, a large choice of reticles all of which are suitable for long range shooting, plus a great warranty and unequaled customer service?

Sounds like a Nightforce BR 8-32x scope is just what you need! Another plus is an illuminated reticle as standard equipment. What's not to like? Unless, of course, you're living overseas where the cost might get prohibitive due to tarriff's and importer mark-ups.
